Interacting with Other Species
Other Species Interaction
In terms of interaction, Gummi Sharks are pretty isolated from species in their own world, but are open to all sorts of interactions with creatures from other worlds! Most are life and death type of relations, but some have made a slightly more… “peaceful” connection with Gummi Shark via trade.
Non-Candy World Species
It really depends on the species Gummi Sharks run into, but most of the time species outside of the Candy World are watched from afar. Gummi Sharks are shy about interacting with species outside of what they know, and like to observe for interesting behaviors instead. However if forced to be in face-to-face contact, a Gummi Shark’s policy is to attack first and investigate later. The only exceptions to this would be if the species is exceedingly stronger in appearance than the Gummi Shark or if the species offers a trade offer first hand. |
Bittersweet Danger
Bittersweets are a species Gummi Sharks know nothing about except they are extremely dangerous foes and should be avoided at all cost. Although bitterness isn’t as poisonous to Gummi Sharks as other creatures, the amount of bitterness a Bittersweet contains is horrifying. They are tricky and clever creatures that have motives that are unknown to shark kind, so it is best to leave them be. |
Squishes and Trade
Due to the threat of Bittersweets, Squishes do not set foot upon the beach for the most part. However some have learned about Gummi Sharks, particularly ones that have trading carts. The first interactions usually result in Gummi Sharks attempting to eat Squishes with no success. However recently Gummi Sharks have learned that Squishes have carts full of awesome stuff from the mysterious inlands and trade them resources from the Jelly Sea for them. This is a rare occurrence though for reasons mentioned before. |
Candy Bites
Ah, the #1 food of Gummi Sharks next to gummy bears: Candy Bites. They are a fantastic source of sugar as even the small parts of them can feed a Gummi Shark for months. Food isn’t all Gummi Sharks may interact with Candy Bites for. Sometimes they just chase them for sport and exercise. Occasionally though Candy Bites may offer a Gummi Shark supplies from out the forest in exchange for a Gummi Shark to spare their lives. This has a 40% chance of actually working since the Gummi Shark may agree to it and then double cross the Candy Bite at the last second. |
