Gummi Shark Oddities
Oddities
Note: These features will be listed! If your Gummi Shark is not marked with having one of these features, then they most probably do not have them. Please do not add this features unless given specific permission.
Oddities are, well, odd to say at the least. They’ve always been present in the Gummi Shark population since the beginning. Over time Gummi Shark society may have chose to esteem certain oddities and ridicule others. These are all very rare to see, but they can and will turn heads when seen.

Colored Sugar/Brown Sugar/Chocolate Freckles
Occasionally a sugar freckled Gummi shark may present with different colored sugar, cinnamon, or chocolate/chocolate chips. Sharkies with these sort of freckles smell very good and are met with favor from other sharkies. Soft Teeth Every pup is born with soft teeth that harden when they get older, but some are unfortunate enough to never have their adult teeth. This can limit their diets and they are easy to spot since they are seen slurping up lowly foods such as gummy worms. How embarrassing! Sometimes you can tell their teeth are soft just by looking since they glitter in the sunlight. |
Overgrown Teeth
There are certain sharkies whose lower or upper teeth grow way too big for their mouth. This can make them appear to have fangs or tusks. They are thought to be very dangerous and highly respected, but their teeth can cause speech problems that may earn them less respect. Mismatched Ears Sometimes a sharkie’s ear structure is mismatched. One ear goes up, the other goes down. It is a bizarre appearance in other sharkie’s eyes and may earn those with this trait a few stares. There is a chance they could be teased for it. |
Bifreckled
Solid marking sharkies have always had the dominant gene of growing sugar as freckles. But there has been word of Gummi Sharks that are very colorful but have sugar freckles. Since sugar freckles are already a beauty mark in society, adding it to a number of colors no one has hardly seen before makes it all the more beautiful. It was always thought that whoever categorized this feature couldn’t count because Gummi sharks with this feature actually have three colors as opposed to the two colors bicolored sharkies usually have. Later it was accepted that these sharkies were called “bifreckled” due to having an additional color to the two they already had. It still causes confusion and debates amongst the Gummi Shark society however. If you look closely at some bifreckled Gummi Sharks’ freckles, you may be able to see their freckles are actually multicolored with pastel colors! This is another way to tell they are “truly” bifreckled. |
Pseudo Bifreckled
As if the classification of “bifreckled” wasn’t strange enough, Gummi Sharks that are literally bicolored with sugar freckles are called phonies! While still considered beautiful, some say this was a feature forced into the gene pool by selective breeding and tampering with extreme conditions. It was a borderline mutation as it was rumored that Gummi Sharks forced certain bicolored sharks to be in extremely hot conditions that had the ability to sweat sugar to form their freckles. For now the heads of Gummi Shark classification still say “pseudo” bifreckleness is an oddity to save themselves headaches. These Gummi Sharks can only have white freckles, which is one way to tell they are “falsely” bifreckled. |
Off-white/Yellow White Markings
Every so often a sharkie’s “white” markings will be off-white or yellow. This isn’t just for look, it is an indication about their skin’s durability! Gummi Sharks presented with this oddity are able to stay out of jelly for much longer periods of time than the normal Gummi Shark. The more yellow the “white” markings are, the longer that particular Gummi Shark can go without rejuvenation. This can be very useful for those who find themselves in a desert world or who go exploring for long periods of time. |
Capes/Flaps/Other Loose Skin
Strange yet beautiful to many, Gummi Sharks with loose excess skin may be treated as royalty. It can make them look majestic and regal! It might prove to be annoying when fighting, running, or doing any activity that could be stopped by someone grabbing the loose skin (not to mention painful), but in most cases this is a minor setback. There are a few that think this skin is just gross however. Sometimes this skin can be translucent, and other times opaque. |
