Food and Diet
A Gummi Shark's main prey are Candy Bites, timid inland creatures with mouths for tails that appear on the beach every so often. It's in Gummi Shark's natural instinct to chase after these guys and are a part of their main diet-- However they don't really see Candy Bites often since well... Almost every Candy Bite/Candy Creature in the world is afraid to go on the beach. (You can thank the hobo Bittersweets exiled to the beach for that)
So Gummi Sharks have to depend on some other things to keep a healthy diet. They need to consume 5 pounds of sugar per month to keep a healthy digestive system, but they can survive a minimum of 80 teaspoons of sugar in a month for about 6 months. Candy Bites are loaded with sugar as you can imagine, the amount they have in their bones and meat could last a shark for months. However, due to how rarely they come on the beach, keeping a Candy Bite body can be proven difficult since many other Gummi Sharks might break into others' homes if they catch a scent of Candy Bite and eat it up. There have been plenty of deaths related to fights over Candy Bites, Candy Bite meat is an absolute treasure to Gummi Sharks. (but not as much as gummi bears are)
Some other food Gummi Sharks eat are gummy worms (which are lowly food to Gummi Sharks), Sweetish Fish, Jelly Eels, Sugarmelons (found on the beach on Sugarmelon trees; very difficult for other creatures to open, but Gummi Sharks can break it open with their teeth), and of course gummy bears. Gummy bears are also a big part of Gummi Shark currency, so some may not eat them right away.

Gummi Sharks that like to be creative may apply this creativeness into their foods! Here are a few dishes made out of Candy Bites creative Gummi Sharks have come up with:

Note: Descriptions of the dishes may not be for the squeamish!
1) Leg in a Bow- The leg/thigh of a Candy Bite with a candystripe tied around it to give it a "cute" appeal. (Note: Candystripe is basically the seaweed of the Jelly Sea; it forms sugar/sour crystals on it and is a common ingredient used in Gummi Shark dishes)
|
5) Sugarrope- Candy Bite meat rolled up in links-- sometimes it's just Candy Bite guts...

Fabrics and Metals
Gummi Sharks have a range of materials for creating clothing, armor, and various other necessities right in the Jelly Sea or on the shores of the Candy World.
Fabrics
Fabrics
Candystripes
While this can be used for food, candystripes are used as forms of clothing. They can be used as scarves, suspenders, bows, and other accessories. The sparkly properties of candystripes are much loved by shark kind.
Taffy Yarn
Taffy yarn can be knitted, weaved and crocheted into pieces of fabric to use for clothing. It is very stretchy and elastic making it very comfortable to wear. If it gets cold however, it will stiffen and be uncomfortable to move around in.
Jelly Eel and Candy Bite Skin
Gummi Sharks may save the skin of their food, especially skin of Jelly Eels and Candy Bites, to stitch together clothing. Each has to be left out in the sun for a certain amount of time to be tender and useable as cloth.

Caramelt
Caramelt is a very common metal to find on the foot of cliffs being hit by jelly waves. It is a type of caramel that can be found in pools scattered about within the cliff face. To make it into an armor or weapon, it must be poured into a mold. When mixed with blue mint dust, this caramelt cools and hardens into a very durable metal that is incredibly difficult to bite down on. Its one weakness is on a hot day, it could melt. However if the Gummi Shark gets to somewhere cool, the metal will harden again, but in a different shape. Many use this as more of a decorative armor than for battles under the sun.

Tartainium
Tartainium can be found within shallow waters along the beach. It comes in pebbles that are very shiny and pastel, so it is easy to find. It can be melted into liquid form by burying it under at least a foot of sand and letting the sand sit out in direct sunlight for a day or so to heat it up. After it has melted, it can be poured into molds to be turned into decent armor. It is not used for weaponry as it is extremely difficult to sharpen without it chipping easily.

Jawxite (jaw-zite)
This metal is more difficult to find. It is deep within underjelly cave systems, sometimes appearing to be stalactites or growing along the cave ceiling. It may require picking at it with a tartainium pick. Once picked, it will come in chips that need to be smashed into dust and mixed with caramelt to form a batter to be poured into molds. Fortunately the batter keeps the same solidifying temperature as jawxite and will take a few hours to harden in the air. Some of the speckled colors in its natural form shows on the molded form.
Jawxite is a very hardy armor material and can quite literally break jaws if bit into or swung at someone. As a weapon, it cannot be sharpened much and is a lot better at damaging with bashing than with cuts.

Pieron
A jagged and rough crust found at deep depths of the Jelly Sea, this metal is a special dough becomes very sharp when put under high temperatures. It is declared to be the sharpest of sweet metals, even tougher than Jawxite. It is however very difficult to obtain as it is very dark where it forms and many sharkies are scared to go deep below due to beady eyed sharkies lurking within the darkness.
Obtaining it is only half the battle, melting it and molding it is very difficult since Gummi Sharks have limited sources of extremely hot temperatures. To make it the sharpest it can be, it is required to mix bitterness with it. Anyone who is able to get past these obstacles will be highly feared and deadly. However they may end up with sore hands from handling bitter objects and hot temperatures while making weapons out of this. It is not recommended that pieron to be used for armor due to sharpness and being mixed with bitterness.

Sweetish Fish Scales
Although sweetish fish are very chewy when eaten, taking their scales off will make the scales harden and sharp. The scales can be stacked on top of one another and be laid on top of cooling caramelt to make sweetish scale armor.
Sugar Melon Shell
The shell of sugar melons is very hard to get through without Gummi Shark teeth. This has lead to some sharks to break the sugar melon shells into pieces and use them to construct helmets and shoulder pads.

Tools and Weapons
These are tools Gummi Shark have or can learn to use to make their lives easier or to attack others with. Any tools or weapons more advanced than this would be avoided by the average sharkie since they could easily cause harm to themselves if misused. Also Gummi Shark society deems technology a luxury and try to keep it away from common Gummi Shark kind.
Caramelt Weaponry
-Very durable -A bit dull -Can melt in the sun |
Jawxite Weaponry
-Extremely durable -Very dull -More useful for bashing than slashing |
Pieron Weaponry
-Durable -Incredibly sharp -Light and easy to swing -May bruise or infect hands with bitterness (unless handle is wrapped or made out of caramelt) |
Bitterstick Darts
-Virtually no durability -Sharpness depends on how well they’re carved -Small but very damaging -Will harm user if used too much |
Peppermint Spears
-Low durability -Somewhat sharp -Does more harm with thrown -Leaves those hit with a cold feeling |
Bow and Arrow
-Bow is often made out of caramelt and taffy yarn is used for the string -Arrows can be made out of peppermint, bitterstick, and the tip can be any metal -Much better for a ranged fight or to take out opponents when hidden |
Recreation Items
Gummi Sharks may seem serious most of the time, but there are times where they just need a way to let stress out. They can do this by doing their hair, keeping pets, playing sports, or even using substances to relax their nerves.
Hair Customization
Gummi Sharks have multiple items they can use for changing their hair’s style, length, texture, or even color.

Glimmering Pearls are used to dye the hair (and cloth) a different color depending on the color the pearl is. If one is sparkly, it will leave the hair nice and sparkly as well. Depending on how many layers of its juice applied to the hair, the hair can last for a few weeks or many months. If the user wants to mix colors, it is suggested they should be experienced or they could end up with some funky hair colors.
If a Gummi Shark wants to put their hair up in a neat little bun or ponytail, they can use Teeth Clams to hold their hair in place with style. These clams have long teeth at the end of them allowing to grasp anything whenever they close. They can also be used as combs for grooming.
Caramelt Clippers are just perfect for styling hair into cuts! If wanting to get a close shave or cut, it is suggested to use a Pieron Razor to get those gritty details. To use a razor, it is recommended that the user should be experienced.
Pet Keeping
Gummi Sharks have a tendency to eat everything they see in the Jelly Sea that moves, but there are times they may desire to have a cool pet!

Common pets are the Jelly Eel and Sweetish Fish, which can be kept in Solid Gumbubbles. If a Jelly Eel is dependant and obedient enough, you may see a Gummi Shark swimming about with their Jelly Eel on a Red Licorice leash.
Jelly Eels are required to be fed Sour Kelp or Gummy Worms, while Sweetish Fish enjoy Sweeweed and other Jelly Sea flora. Both are required to be kept in jelly.
Occasionally the Goosquid is kept as a pet by those who want tattoos. These little guys are difficult to catch as they swim so fast that almost no sharkie can catch up. The one way to lure them is with Gumball Stakes, which is a plant that grows many gumballs on its side. While Goosquids love gumballs, they are sometimes too clever to be tricked by a blatant lure, so it is suggested a Gummi Shark should camouflage themselves when going to capture one of these.

Sports
Kickslick
An emptied lifeless Jelly Eel filled with sugar Beans can be used for the sport of Kickslick. The goal of this sport is to keep the Jelly Eel ball off the ground underjelly for as long as you can by hitting it with your ankles. Each kick earns a Gummi Shark (or team of Gummi Sharks) that kicked it a point. If it lands on the ground, the last sharkie to kick it loses a point. The Jelly Eel ball glides slowly towards the ground, allowing Gummi Sharks to wrestle and shove each other out the way to either hinder a player or get others out the way to get the point. This is sport can have up to 15 players. |
Tree Basher
In the sport of Tree Basher, giant jawbreakers are thrown at sugar melon trees to shake the sugar melons out the tree. The Gummi Shark that knocks out the most sugar melons before their jawbreaker breaks wins. Usually this is played between 2-5 players. |
Relaxants
Some Gummi Sharks do use some herbs and liquids to relax or think. This has allowed another market to form and sell these items to the general population that has dependency on such items. It also fuels more gangs to form just to sell these relaxants and can be a cutthroat industry if you don’t know what you’re doing.
(Note: None of these are required to be lit, so it would not be called “smoking” in Gummi Shark society)

Cocoa or Cinnamon Sticks
-Puffable -Cocoa sticks are bitter, Cinnamon sticks are spicy -Helps with critical thinking -Will do harm if used too much |
Blue Mint
-Puffable -Can be mixed in tea -Mainly used to regulate body temperature and cool down the head and general body -Mostly consumed by hot-headed sharkies -Can be crushed up and used to cool liquids into solids |
Mint Gum
-Chewable -Considered a gross habit -Helps with cleaning teeth and calming aching jaws |
Pop Juice
-Drinkable -Is basically jelly with popping rocks in it -Drunkened out of sugar melon shells -May leave one with an upset stomach and/or throat if gulped too fast -Definitely not recommended for those who are pregnant |
